August Concert in the Park
What a fantastic: day, crowd Turnout, Lion Turnout, and Leo Turnout for our August 16th Concert in the Park. Even though Marcie Willhite was under the weather she cheered us on. The Doo Wop All Stars played and the Eastern JROTC displayed the Colors. Sixteen Lions worked the event (Lions: Ron & Nina Wolf, Marty & Kay Mills, Jenny & Larry Hammond, Terry Kennedy, Ray Hartley, Barry Osburn, H.D. Wilson, Gail Bruder, Ret. Col. Dave Schneider, Mike Armbrust, Chairperson Klaus Mullinex, President Frank Ryan, and Hal Thomas. Lion Alyson Stamper could not be there but ordered the bread. At least 25 Leo’s (Eastern JROTC students) helped lighten the load and were exemplary in their duties.
We distributed all the food and drinks, with only a few packages of buns left which were donated to the Way Side Christian Mission. The new grill worked in unison with one of the old grills and Lion Klaus said we might need both old grills for the next concert. Mayor Chapman and the City Commissioners continue to engage the Constituents of Middletown in a family friendly get-to-gather focused on meeting and talking to your neighbors. Did I mention it was FAN-TAS-TIC!
