After a weather-related set back the Middletown Lions Charity Golf Scramble took place on 8-4-2025 at Weissinger Hills Golf Course & Range. Many hands contributed to a successful event. Our Title sponsor was the Historic City of Middletown headed by Mayor Byron Chapman, and Commissioners Mark Stigers, Paul Hayden, Amy Oliver, and Ron Wolf. Our Diamond Sponsor was the Creative Capital Group. Middletown Lions and families worked diligently to collect items for our silent auction and drawings. We had around 70 baskets with all types of goodies.
Around 100 golfers played for prizes in three skill level flights. There was a Cannon Ball Experience (a golf ball was shot from a air gun towards the green), Money grab (sponsored by the Creative Capital Group), putting contest, Chick- Fil-A’ lunch with hot dogs and brats at the turn, with soft drinks and water in several locations.
The Vision Interventions & Parental Support (VIPS) was chosen for our featured charity this year. VIPS has served the blind and visually impaired children roughly 6 months old to 6 years old and their families for 40 years. Lion Sharon Bensinger helped bring her dream into a reality by bringing together many partners in our community.
