Diabetes is one of the Global Causes of Lions International with the Strategic Objective to reduce the prevalence of diabetes and to improve quality of life for those diagnosed. With this in mind, the Middletown Lions Club has entered a team of Club members into the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) “One Walk” to be held on October 19, 2019 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. The goal is to raise at least $1000 to contribute to research to end type 1 diabetes.
Each year, JDRF “One Walk” brings together more than 900,000 people across the country to change the future for everyone living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). This fun, family–friendly event gives people with T1D, their loved ones, companies and the local community the opportunity to come together, create change and positively impact lives of those living with T1D.
Please support the Middletown Lions Club as we come together with JDRF in this effort to make it safer and easier to live with this disease, until we create a world without T1D. Donations through our team can be made online at: http://www2.jdrf.org/goto/middletownlions
